We are a bioinformatics research institute focused on the development and application of computational data analysis methods to human, plant, and bacterial genomics.
Our mission is to bridge the gap in human resources in genomics and bioinformatics through research and training to nurture the next generation of scientific leaders with the ultimate goal of supporting the development of precision medicine and modern biotech.
ABI emerged in 2021 as a non-profit scientific-educational foundation in response to the critical shortage of human resources in genomics and bioinformatics. Founded by a group of scientists from Armenia (Institute of Molecular Biology), Germany, USA, and beyond, our goal was to bridge the gap through research and training, cultivating essential human capital for life science research, medicine, and biotech on a global scale. Initially focusing on intensive training activities for local students and researchers worldwide, we evolved into an institute with dedicated labs for human and plant genomics, microbiomes, and more labs.
